MAJOR PROJECTS

Arman Larmer Surveys Limited has carried out all types of surveying activities in all Provinces of PNG since 1964. The work listed here are selected amongst many other major projects and are indicative of our capabilities:

  • June 2014: Completed survey of the 29 major airports of PNG for PNG Air Services Ltd, as subcontractors to AAM Group. This survey is to bring airports in PNG to conform to ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) standards using WGS 84 co-ordinates.

  • 2012 - 2015+: Horizon Talisman JV. DIM and Cadastral ROW (20M wide) PRL4 - Stanley gas pipeline (40Km) and PRL21 Elevala Gas pipeline - Kiunga (92Km).
  • 2011 - 2013: CBI Clough JV. Precision construction survey setout and monitoring. Hides Gas Conditioning Plant. Site and Well pads.
  • 2011 Sept- 2013: CCJV, Set out, check survey of holding down bolts, as constructed surveys for QA / QC report, verticality survey of high square steel columns and Monitor construction of Exxon Mobil EPC 4 HGCP Wellpad Project, Hides Hela Province; Provided 4 Survey parties.
  • 2011: Port Moresby Sewer Study - Detailed sur-vey of 19.8 Km from Tatana to Paga Point and Badili to Pari and Vabukori.
  • 2006 -2007: LIHIR GOLD LIMITED - Set out, check survey of holding down bolts, as constructed surveys, verticality survey of high cylindrical and square steel columns and Monitor construction of Mine's Extension to BALL & SAG MILL, Lihir Island, New Island Province.
  • 2005: INTEROIL COPERATION, Seismic Survey for InterOil oil exploration program. Wabo, Gulf Province, four (4) survey parties.
  • 2005 / 2008 / 2010: Feasibility Surveys for the PNG - Queensland Gas pipeline leading up to Exxon Mobil LNG Pre-construction survey set out of the PNG LNG Project pipeline for 300 km's from Omati - Kopi - Gobe - Moro - Hides
  • 2003: CLOUGH NIUGINI & INTER OIL - Set out, check survey of holding down bolts, as constructed surveys, verticality survey of high cylindrical and square steel columns and Monitor construction of PNG Refinery Project, Napa Napa.
  • 1989: Chevron Niugini Pty Ltd KUTUBU PETROLEUM DEVELOPMENT PROJECT - Poroma - Moro Access Road 122km & Infield Roads route location, Engineering survey, Kutubu, S.H.P. Precision detail survey s using total station with up to 10 survey parties.
  • 1992-1994: Chevron Niugini Pty Ltd KUTUBU PETROLEUM DEVELOPMENT PROJECT - Construction Stage, Moro Airport & Infield Access Roads
  • 1996-1997: Chevron Niugini Pty Ltd GOBE PETROLEUM DEVELOPMENT PROJECT - Construction Stage, Gobe Airport & Infield Access Roads
  • 1986 - 1992: Oil Field Development surveys for Chevron Niugini at Lake Kutubu and on the 122Km access road from Poroma to Moro to Lagifu 3x. Precision detail surveys using total station Theodolites, where we have had up to 10 survey parties on this project with the average being 6 parties.
  • 1987:Pre-construction survey set out of the PNG LNG Project pipeline for 300 km's from Omati - Kopi - Gobe - Moro - Hides
  • 1987: Chevron Niugini Pty Ltd - survey of 173 Km of oil pipeline from Lake Kutubu to Kikori in conjunction with William Bros - CMPS
  • 1998: Feasibility study of proposed new Wharf Facility in Port Moresby Harbour.
  • 1985: Umuda Island, Fly River Delta - Control and Detail survey onshore and offshore. Topographic survey of three onshore sites and Shoreline survey of approximately 14Km of coastline.
  • 1981 - 1984: Major survey contract at Ok Tedi Mine. This included survey of roads, pipelines, transmission lines, dam sites, aerodrome topographic. cadastral and set out for construction works. This project involved the deployment of a total of up top 40 field teams on a rotational Total Stations basis.
  • 1974 to 1976: Purari Scheme Mapping for NMB. Arman and Larmer provided survey control for photogrammetric mapping covering 20% of the PNG mainland including the Purari. 29 Surveyors (expat and National ) worked on this project plus 2 full time helicopters.
  • 1970 - 1972: Ramu Hydro Power Scheme and Yonki dam and power station surveys
  • Orangerie Bay, Port Glascow and Milport Harbour Hydrographic Surveys - 50 Km off coastline.
  • Hiritano Highway, Eastern Papua - Central and Western Papua (Total 500 Km).
  • Kavieng to Fanagalawa, New Ireland Province - Survey of upgrading road 65 Km.
  • Set out and supervision of earth works for the new Gold Mill for NGG at Wau.
  • Texaco Standard Oil - Nomad - Papua new Guinea, geological survey and location of oil rig site in limestone chasm country.
  • Marathon Oil Co. - Investigation survey and access to proposed Lakekamu rig site.
  • Mt. Isa Mines Ltd - Survey of Gold Prospect -Pogera- Western Highlands Province.
  • Placer (PNG) Pty Ltd - Exploration grids and detail surveys on Misima and Porgera projects since 1974. All control topographic, road and boundary surveys.
  • Chevron Niugini Pty Ltd - Survey of 173 Km of oil pipeline from Lake Kutubu to Kikori in conjunction with William Bros - CMPS.
  • Mine Development Surveys for CRA at Hidden Valley - DTM's on access road, Plan Site and Tailings Dam.
  • Bechtel-MKI. Huge (K5.4 Million) Survey contract at Ok Tedi. This included survey of roads, pipelines, transmission lines, aerodome topographic, cadastral and set out for construction. This project involved the deployment of 30 field parties at any one time, with a total of over 40 field teams being involved on a rotational basis.
  • Oil Field Development surveys for Chevron Niugini at Lake Kutubu and on the 122Km access road from Poroma to Moro to Iagifu 3x. Precision detailed surveys using total station Theodolites, where we have had 10 survey parties on this project with the average being 6 parties.
  • Detailed survey on the Mumeng - Wau Road (58Km) the Hiritano Highway (54Km) and Lae City Industrial Roads (55Km).
  • Gobe 2 Oilfields Road Route Location - (DTM) surveys approximately 80Km.
  • Port Moresby- Sewer Study - Detailed survey of 19.8Km from Tatana to Paga Point and Badili to Pari and Vabukori.
  • Kaiam - Samberigi Road - DTM survey - Route Location, GPS control and Detailed survey of 35Km for road design.
  • Kaiam - Kikori Road - DTM survey - Route Location, GPS Control and Detailed survey of 72Km for road design of Proposed Southern Highlands Gulf Highway.
  • Kerema to Ihu Road - DTM survey - Route survey, GPS Control of 45Km of preliminary road design of proposed project.

RESOURCES AND CAPACITY

Arman Larmer Surveys

Our survey teams are under the control of experienced Registered and Engineering Surveyors, all equipped with GPS RTK and static units, electronic Total Stations, laptop computers and printers for surveys away from Port Moresby.

The data reduction, plan preparation and final output are completed for all projects in Port Moresby or on site where this is required. The office operates both Geocomp and Civilcad software for surveying and engineering projects, AutoCAD 2013 is utilised for drafting, MapInfo is engaged for GIS projects, Reliance for GPS surveys for GIS, Winprism for GPS control surveys, and various other office software is available for office management. We have upgrades from Geocomp soft ware to Terramodel software.

Our Surveyors

All of our National surveyors have Degrees of Bachelor of Technology in Surveying from the PNG University of technology in Lae and one has Bachelor of Surveying and a Post Graduate Diploma in Surveying Practice from QUT in Brisbane Australia. All are members of the Association of Surveyors of PNG. Expatriate surveyor is also a member of SSSIA (Aust).
